Welcome to my latest DIY/natural living/I was bored one day/money saving experiment! I have been making my own body wash (or do you call it shower gel?) for the past few months and love the results so much that I had to share. 🙂 I started out using this recipe, but have since tweaked it more to my liking.
The main ingredient is 1/3 cup of castile soap. Just measure and carefully add to the glass bottle.
Very carefully. Especially if you’re trying to take a picture of yourself doing it at the same time. Because you’re too lazy to pull out and set up a tripod.
Next come five tablespoons of vegetable glycerin, which make it get nice and sudsy when you’re in the shower.
After that, add three tablespoons of olive oil for that extra moisturizing power punch!
Finally, add 15 drops of your favorite 100% pure essential oil – I have tried all sorts of combinations! Since I usually shower in the morning, my favorite are energizing and invigorating oils like peppermint or citrus oils. If you’re more of an evening bather, however, I would recommend something more soothing like lavender. To use, shake the bottle and pump 2-3 squirts onto your favorite color loofah or sponge. This recipe only takes a few minutes to make and is full of healthy, natural ingredients!
